KRC.0221.0814.15 - Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time)
The Part Time Pharmacy Technician works as a member of our clinic's Pharmacy team in an integrated primary-care/behavioral health setting. This position will work varied hours each week within our Pharmacy located in South Central Kansas. The Part Time Tech will need to be flexible with working hours and his/her availability to work as needed. This position is part of the clinical team. This position is responsible for accurately filling controlled medications, prescribed by Providers, in a timely manner. Provides clear and concise communication with patients, clinical staff, and medical providers. Pharmacy Technicians do participate in staff meetings, and staff training as required for the job role. The Pharmacy Technicians work closely with the Pharmacists and patients to ensure accuracy for filling and scheduling of submitted prescriptions. This position will also be trained to schedule patient appointments as necessary.
What are the requirements for the position?
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Kansas Pharmacy Tech License is required
· Nationally Certified by taking/passing the CPhT, preferred.
· Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts each week.
Working shifts will be during our normal business hours for the Pharmacy of MWF 8a-6p, TTh 8a-7p, and Sat 8a-12p
· Continuance of education to maintain Kansas Pharmacy Technician licensure is required
· 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is required
· Experience with customer service and multi-line phones is preferred
· Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers
· Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
· Computer knowledge, and ability to work independently with little direction required
· Bi-Lingual ability in Spanish is preferred, but not required
What are some key duties and responsibilities?
· Answers patient calls directed to internal pharmacy.
· Makes calls to promote clinic services to existing patients not currently utilizing internal pharmacy.
· Works with patients and other pharmacies to complete prescription transfer requests.
· Enters medication refill requests.
· Schedules patient appointments as necessary.
· Maintains a close working relationship with pharmacy staff, attends pharmacy staff meetings, and is attuned to changes in pharmacy personnel, policies and procedures.
· Performs additional duties, as may be assigned.
· Responsible for accurately filling controlled medications, prescribed by Providers, in a timely manner.
· Enters data accurately into information system
· Communicates effectively with clinical staff and Providers.
· Pre-authorizes medications as required by payers.
· Performs all duties, services and documentation in full compliance with internal policies and procedures.
· Demonstrates courtesy, patience, and helpfulness toward patients and their families/caregivers
· Answers phones promptly, courteously, and efficiently
· Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information including HIPAA

· Basic keyboarding; computer skills; basic medical terminology; high degree of accuracy; good oral and written communication skills; time management
