Job Description

The Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center/Gonzaga University Nurse Anesthesia Program is seeking a full-time CRNA educator with a doctorate degree to join its esteemed faculty. This is a unique academic opportunity to work face-to-face with a small cohort of students while living in the welcoming community of Spokane, Washington. As such, those with experience as faculty or administration in a Nurse Anesthesia Program are preferred. Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital (PSHMC) has been instructing nurse Anesthetists since 1917. In 1977, Gonzaga University became a partner with Sacred Heart to offer the first entry into practice Master’s degree for Nurse Anesthetists the MAE. In 2015, the program started its three-year Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program. The DNAP program is based out of the PSHMC campus in a traditional face to face education delivery model.

  • High level of communication and self-management skills are ideal
  • Capable of working cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and disciplines
  • Serve as a member of all School of Anesthesia Committees
  • Doctoral Degree with subjects related to Administration, Anesthesiology, Education or Counseling required
  • Licensed to practice as a Advanced Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
  • Must maintain recertification from the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists
  • 3 years' of clinical anesthesia experience is required
