TeamHealth has an opportunity for an emergency medicine nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) to join our team in a full-time capacity at Bergan Mercy's emergency department (ED) observation unit in Omaha, Nebraska. This 42-bed ED sees an annual patient volume of 28,000 and has an admission rate of 20% with a medium to high-acuity patient population. The 11-bed observation unit has 20 hours of advanced practice clinician (APC) coverage working 10-hour shifts.

The observation team is a fast-paced unit that works in close collaboration with the ED, consultants, support staff unit, and CHI Bergan administrative physicians. Types of cases include, cardiac, neurological, surgical, medical, trauma, and overdoses. There is 24/7, on-site emergency medicine physician and hospitalist in-house coverage. Significant clinical experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, cardiology or critical care experience and ACLS certification is required.
