Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Hospitalist


Job Description

Fairview Lakes Medical Center seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible  Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Hospitalist team. Hospitalists round on inpatients as well as provide consult services to colleagues in the hospital and take un-assigned patients from the Emergency Room.

Practice Details:

  • Block schedule, modified to accommodate part-time hospitalist providers
  • 24/7 hospital coverage
  • Easy access to imaging, lab, rehab, and all services at Fairview Lakes Medical Center
  • 24 to 28 bed med/surg unit includes co-management of Orthopedic Surgery patients
  • 10-bed ICU with average 2-5 critical care patients
  • 3-bed ED observation unit
  • Hospital consults available 7 days/wk from General, Ortho and OB/GYN Surgeons
  • Specialty consultation services available weekdays from Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Hem/Onc, Palliative Care, Urology, and Neurology
  • Telephone specialty consultation available anytime from the University of Minnesota Medical Center and UMP Heart community Cardiologists
  • We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Position Qualifications:

A qualified PA candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Be eligible or have a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.

A qualified NP candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner training program. Have a current Minnesota RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Be eligible or certified through ANCC / AANP and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
