In San Angelo, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide continuous and comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health, prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders and health maintenance. The NPP works collaboratively with other on site medical and mental health providers as well as with community LPC’s.
Job Overview:
- Work collaboratively with a physician and/or mental health provider
- Through patient evaluation, determine a differential diagnosis and plan for intervention
- Maintain a customer-oriented approach to meeting patient needs in an expedient manner, involving the family in the plan of care as appropriate
- Document care provided
- Identify system specific problems, which require evaluation and/or change; work with appropriate staff to resolve these issues by participating in performance improvement processes
- Takes an active role to contribute to the improvement of office functioning
- Utilize teaching learning theory with patients and their families to influence patient outcomes

Qualifications:
- License to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas required
- Minimum of 1 year of practice experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner giving direct patient care required
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Advance Practice Nursing degree in Psychiatry required
- Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty
- Board certification required
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification
- Minimum of 3 years experience required
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Texas Medical Practice Act
- Knowledge of protocols in general and an ability to quickly gain specific knowledge of the Center’s current operational protocols
- Ability to use office equipment including but not limited to computers, fax machines, telephones and copiers
- Must be registered and have current DEA, DPS and other such certificates to legally operate as an Advance Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas
