Job Description

Lutheran Hospital and Lutheran Downtown Hospital are seeking candidates for full and part time Pulmonary/Critical Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.  These are opportunities to join a progressive, successful, collegial group in a thriving health care system in northeast Indiana in a great location for families, affordability, lakes, cool neighborhoods and that big city, small-town feel.

The Advanced Practice Provider will examine and treat patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Education:

  • Requires a master's degree in area of specialty, certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and state authority for advanced practice. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must have current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • CPR Certificate required within 90 days of hire. 

Experience:

  • Minimum three years of ICU experience preferred.
