Summary
Department: Pharmacy
Shift timings: 14:30-23:00 Monday to Friday (5 Days/ 8 Hours)
Per Week: 40 Hours.
Licensed in the state of RI as a pharmacist. Shift hours 230pm-11pm every other weekend every other holiday. PharmD or RPh. Hospital experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
- Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
- Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
Qualifications
BLS and ACLS
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Requires a minimum of two years of current Pharmacist experience.
Graduate from a fully accredited Pharmacist program
Active unencumbered Pharmacist Rhode Island state license
One year of Cerner experience
Requirements
