Signature Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant for our Weight and Wellness Program located in Brockton, MA. The PA will work collaboratively with and report directly to the Bariatric Program Director. The ideal candidate will be a Physician Assistant/PA-C with a surgical background of 2 years and have a team approach mentality.

The Bariatric Coordinator, PA responsibilities will include:

• Act as first assistant in bariatric surgery procedures
• Round on patients
• Perform consultations in the ER as part of a shared call schedule
• Receive training on nutrition counseling  and weight management techniques
• Coordinate support and pre-op weight loss groups
• Assist with program marketing and outreach materials, educational materials, and web content and design
• Communicate and work closely with practice assistants to ensure appropriate and accurate patient information is given to them and surgery approval is provided in a timely fashion
• Act as an intermediary between physicians and staff
• Assist with bariatric data management and coordination of MBSAQIP Accreditation
• Coordinate and facilitate the preparation and execution of the MBSAQIP Accreditation and facility site visit for the Signature Medical Group and Brockton Hospital campuses

Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
• Must have current valid Massachusetts license , MA CSR and Federal DEA
• Minimum 2 years of surgical experience required
