Seeking a dedicated and skilled General Surgery physician assistant to join the team at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California. As a Surgical First Assistant, you will provide support to general surgeons by assisting in the operating room and providing patient care in the clinic setting. This position offers a balanced schedule, allowing you to spend 2 days a week in the operating room and 2 to 3 days in the clinic, working with a variety of general surgery cases.

• Full-time position
• Monday to Friday schedule; 2 to 3 days in clinic and 2 days in surgery
• Clinical load is 20 to 30 per day with 15-minute follow up and 30-minute consults
• Surgical days are variable, typically assist in 4 to 5 surgeries and associated patient rounding
• Call is 1 weekend per month to assist with weekend rounds
• General surgery plus specialty surgery, foregut, colorectal large presence, hepatobiliary, and endocrine programs, along with a very robust surgery program service
• Working with all surgeons of practice
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical specialty as a first assist is preferred
• Open to new graduates
• Compensation between $170,510 and $225,566 per year

The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and may include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, hospital/ED call stipends, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
