Carilion Clinic is searching for an additional Heart Failure Cardiologist to allow for the continued growth and expansion of the cardiology services provided at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH), our Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center located in Roanoke, Virginia serving nearly one million in western Virginia. Responsibilities include continued development of the current Heart Failure Clinic to improve access and extend the scope of services to identify patients at risk for mortality, hospital readmission, and other adverse events as well as the establishment of a comprehensive inpatient Heart Failure service including consultative, diagnostic and treatment services for high risk hospitalized patients. Evaluation of patients for VAD support including long term/destination therapy and bridging support to transplantation along with coordination of care with neighboring transplantation centers required. Excellent opportunity for the continued development of a strong clinical practice, resident and medical student education, and research. Academic appointment available through Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

Qualifications include Board Certification in Cardiology and Fellowship Training in Advanced  Heart Failure. Must possess unencumbered medical license.  Experience in building and managing an advanced heart failure service is desirable and experience is required.
