Saint Thomas Heart Cardiology Advanced Imaging/Interventional Echo Opportunity

Saint Thomas Heart Group in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a talented and ambitious interventional imaging cardiologist to join our nationally recognized program. Our heart center includes of over 60 physicians serving a large regional referral network. This candidate will have Level III training in echocardiography, have completed a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging, and/or have equivalent imaging experience as a member of a heart valve center. Adjunctive training in cardiac CT and MRI imaging is also strongly appreciated.

Saint Thomas West Hospital:

Saint Thomas West Hospital is a high-volume tertiary referral center for comprehensive heart care in Nashville, Tennessee. Our cardiac Valve & Structural Heart Center includes 8 catheterization laboratories, 7 surgical suites, 2 hybrid ORs, and one fusion imaging suite dedicated for advanced structural heart procedures. In 2018, Saint Thomas physicians will have performed over 1000 TAVR and 200 mitraclip procedures.* In addition, transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation, percutaneous tricuspid valve repair, paravalvular leak occlusion, valvuloplasty, LAA occlusion, alcohol septal ablation, percutaneous ASD/PFO closure, and multiple other percutaneous procedures are performed on a routine basis. Several prospective transcatheter implantable devices are also being investigated through the Saint Thomas Research Institute. The cardiac surgical program is a national reference center for robotic mitral valve repair, septal myomectomy, aortic surgery, cardiac transplantation, LVAD, ECMO, and complex coronary bypass procedures.

Position Title:

Saint Thomas Heart Cardiology Advanced Imaging/Interventional Echo Opportunity

Requirements:

ABIM Certification, Internal Medicine & Cardiovascular Disease

Advanced cardiology imaging fellowship, and/or equivalent valve center imaging experience

NBE certification and/or Level III training in Echocardiography

Knowledge of conventional surgical and structural heart interventional procedures

Transesophageal 3D Echocardiography

Knowledge of pathology based multi-modality CV imaging correlations; CT/MRI experience is optimal

Responsibilities:

Primary cardiology interventional imaging specialist

Valve Clinic patient consultation and imaging evaluation

Clinical and research transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography

Valve based stress echocardiography and interpretation

Perioperative imaging consultation and evaluation

Coordinate advanced imaging protocols with research institute and sponsors

Participate as faculty member via regional and national meetings and scientific societies

Participate in co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications for scientific journals, including presentation of work requiring travel.
