• American Board of Thoracic Surgery Certified or Eligible
• Training and interest in all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
• Interest in minimally invasive surgical and structural heart procedures
• Preference for being < 10 years from completion of fellowship training
• No options for J-1 visa applicants

Wellmont Cardiac Services ( WCS), which is administered by physicians, is part of Wellmont Health System, and is the premier cardiothoracic and vascular group in Northeast Tennessee..  WCS is comprised of 41 cardiologists, 5 cardiothoracic surgeons, 5 vascular surgeons and a full complement of non-physician practitioners that work together to form a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary, service line for all cardiac, vascular, and thoracic services in Wellmont Health System at 2 major tertiary care hospitals and 7 regional offices. 

The applicant will join 2 cardiothoracic surgeons and a Thoracic surgeon at our Kingsport, TN location working collaboratively with all Cardiology specialties and other specialists to provide high quality team based care.  WCS is comprised of centers of excellence in cardiothoracic surgery, Valve Clinic, Vascular surgery, Structural Heart disease.  The robust collaborative environment between WCS specialists produces over 700 surgical cases annually at Holston Valley Medical Center and 1100 cases across the system.

 WCS is a leader in regional cardiothoracic care with the only regional STEMI transfer program, an active research program, and a strong focus on valvular heart disease with a fully developed and progressive Structural Heart Program. Collaboration continues outside of WCS as well with a well-established Thoracic Oncology program.
