Saint Thomas West Hospital Adult Cardiac Surgeon Position

The Saint Thomas Heart Group in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a board eligible/board certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our well-established practice at The Saint Thomas West Hospital. Our heart center includes over 60 physicians serving a large regional referral network. *Cardiac surgery is performed at two of our facilities: Saint Thomas West and Saint Thomas Midtown campuses. We are recruiting an adult cardiac surgeon to join our four surgeons at the Saint Thomas West campus.

Saint Thomas West Hospital

The Saint Thomas West Hospital is a high-volume tertiary referral center for cardiac transplantation, LVAD, ECMO, robotic and minimally invasive mitral valve repair, septal myomectomy, atrial fibrillation surgery, aortic surgery, and complex coronary bypass procedures. The Saint Thomas West Heart Center includes: 7 surgical suites, 2 hybrid ORs, 8 catheterization laboratories, and one fusion imaging suite dedicated for advanced structural heart procedures. In 2017, surgeons at Saint Thomas West performed approximately 1300 cardiac procedures including coronary revascularization, minimally invasive and robotic valvular surgery, cardiac transplantation, transcatheter valvular procedures, LVAD implantation, and ECMO.* In addition, our transcatheter valve team has an experience of approximately 1000 TAVR and 200 Mitraclip procedures. The Saint Thomas Research Institute is very active enrolling patients in different TAVR, LVAD, surgical valves, and transcatheter mitral valve clinical trials.

The selected candidate is expected to be proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery.* Additional experience in hybrid revascularization and atrial fibrillation surgery is desired.*

Requirements

BE/BC in cardiothoracic surgery

Proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery

Additional experience in hybrid revascularization and atrial fibrillation surgery is desired
