Lutheran Hospital is seeking a dynamic Physician Executive (Chief Medical Officer) who will provide medical leadership to its 396-bed acute care facility in Ft. Wayne, Indiana which delivers healthcare to over 1.3 million residents.
Lutheran Hospital is part of Lutheran Health Network, whose members are owned by subsidiaries of Community Health Systems, an integrated healthcare delivery system and the largest healthcare provider in the region with eight separately licensed hospitals and nearly 1,000 licensed beds including 793 in Allen County alone. The foundation of Lutheran Health Network is a strong team consisting of more than 7,000 associates. Each network entity offers a wide range of services and specialties.
This CMO role is crucial to foster and build key relationships with a diverse group of medical staff members, both employed and independent practicing physicians. This individual must be able to function as the staff’s advocate to Administration as well as Administration’s advocate to the staff. The CMO must be politically savvy to connect with a variety of key constituents including physicians, executive leadership, direct reports, peers, board members and community leaders. As an advisor and direct report to the CEO, the CMO will lead all activities of medical management which includes case management, outcomes management, medical education, credentialing, physician recruiting and provider relations.

with regulatory guidelines

- Serve as a member of the hospital’s senior administrative team
- Minimum of 5 years’ clinical or administrative experience

- Board Certification in medical specialty
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree with current licensure by the State of Indiana as a physician or surgeon.
