Western Connecticut Medical Group has an excellent full-time Emergency Medicine Physician opening at our New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT with potential for some shifts at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, located about 82 miles and 70 miles northeast of New York City respectively. At New Milford Hospital, our ED treats 16,000 patients annually in our newly renovated department. Our team of 22 physicians and 14 physician assistants provide 24/7 coverage at both locations. This is an employed position with a collegial and stable team. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives, allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses, and paid time off. There is the potential for Assistant Professorship with The University of Vermont Larner School of Medicine.

New Milford Hospital is an 85-bed community hospital, serving the residents of the greater Litchfield County area in CT for almost 100 years.  Our Emergency Department, newly renovated in 2015, is an 11,000-square-foot, sustainable and “green” space, equipped with all private patient rooms, specialty care areas and an expanded triage desk. Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology. We treat about 70,000 patients annually, with approximately 900 trauma cases.

Position summary:

• Provide single physician coverage in 12 hour shifts with PA coverage 10 hours/day weekdays and 12 hours/day weekends. Average 12-13 shifts per month.
• Hospitalist admits and in-house 24/7
• Strong support from Danbury Hospital
• Radiology/tele-radiology 24/7
• CT 24/7
• Sonosite in ED
• Minimal trauma

Job Requirements:

• MD or DO with CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration
• Successful completion of Emergency Medicine Residency
• Board certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Experience preferred, willing to consider new residents
