TeamHealth is seeking an Assistant Program Director (APD) for the new EM GME program at Coliseum Medical Centers in Macon, Georgia. This key role will partner with the Program Director in planning and coordinating academic and operational activities of the residency program and provide administrative supervision and guidance to residents regarding administrative issues, due dates, deadlines and other key elements. The APD will be responsible for ensuring program, faculty and resident compliance with ACGME and providing guidance on policies and issues as it relates to GME requirements. Coliseum Medical Center (CMC) is a 310-bed facility offering a 24-hour emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, rehabilitation programs, behavioral health and diagnostic services. In addition, CMC's breadth of care options includes specialty facilities such as a Heart Institute, Robotics Institute, Cancer Institute, Diabetes Management Center, the Family Ties Birthing Center, which includes a level III neonatal nursery, and the Center for Behavioral Health, which provides treatment to adults with psychiatric and addiction issues. The services provided include inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as, a specialty program for senior adults. This 20-bed emergency department has an annual patient volume of approximately 57,000 visits. We currently have 57 hours of physician and 24 hours of APC coverage daily. Meditech EMR is utilized and ED ultrasound and glidescope are also available. This is a fast-paced ED with a 20% admission rate and high acuity. Residents rotate through the emergency department.
