EM medical director - job responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: provide medical expertise and guidance to the emergency department (ED) staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- Quality assurance: develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor clinical performance metrics, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and best practices
- Physician recruitment and retention: collaborate with the hospital administration to recruit and retain talented emergency medicine physicians, ensuring adequate coverage and maintaining a high level of expertise within the department
- Performance management: provide regular feedback, mentorship, and performance evaluations to emergency department physicians, fostering professional growth and promoting a positive work environment
- Collaborative partnerships: foster effective relationships and communication with other departments, medical staff, nursing, and administration to promote seamless care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration
