The Section of Endocrinology and Diabetes at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the Department of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine is seeking a pediatric endocrinologist to serve as Chief of the Section of Endocrinology and Diabetes.
The Section is seated within the 189-bed, free-standing, quaternary care children’s hospital and extensive outpatient care facilities in North Philadelphia. The Section includes 6 pediatric endocrinologists, 1 pediatric nurse practitioner, 3 clinical nurses, 3 registered dieticians/diabetes educators, and 1 social worker. The Section provides inpatient and outpatient care to children with the full spectrum of endocrine disorders including over 1,000 patients with diabetes. The successful applicant will lead the scholarly, educational and clinical programs of the Section, setting goals and evaluating clinical care and mentoring faculty academic and scholarly activities. Furthermore, he/she will guide the training of fellows in an active Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship.
Suitable candidates will have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D., a background of clinical and academic leadership and a successful record of performance in basic science or clinical research. Candidates should possess credentials for a faculty appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine at the Associate Professor/Professor rank, and must be certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and be eligible for licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.
