Job Description

In Waxahachie, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to serves as a primary care physician. This involves the delivery of family oriented medical care services appropriate for a comprehensive, rural healthcare delivery system with a multicultural, multilingual patient population.

 Job Overview:

  • Assesses and examines patients, reviews past medical history and requests and/or performs/recommends diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case
  • Makes preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment or arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required
  • Manages and oversees all adult medical, cases that do not require referral
  • Identifies risk management issues and brings to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer and/or CMO/ Medical Director
  • Provides oversight of CLIA waived tests
  • Obtains and maintains active or courtesy staff privileges at hospitals in the area and as required by the professional liability insurance carrier
  • Attends internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences, as necessary to maintain continuing medical education requirements and/or as required by the Health Center
  • Monthly call coverage rotation 
  • EHR: NextGen

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine and 3 years of residency training required
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
  • Board certification required
  • Must maintain a valid CPR, BLS, and ACLS Certificate during employment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required
  • Current medication dispensing license, both federal (DEA) and state (DPS)
  • Must have updated Immunization (IZ) record
  • Must have annual Tuberculosis (TB) skin test
  • Knowledge of the cultural and social backgrounds of Ellis and surrounding Counties and the service area population

Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred
