Job Description

Seeking a full-time, board-certified Psychiatrist for a faculty position as the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Director to develop an Addiction Medicine Fellowship in association with the Alaska Family Medicine Residency Program. Responsibilities will include administration, operations, teaching, fellow recruitment and selection, as well as supervision of fellows to include evaluation, promotion and address disciplinary concerns.

A number of state and regional agencies, including Providence Alaska Medical Center, have created this dually accredited residency program to help develop future family physicians who desire to serve in rural communities within Alaska. As faculty, you will have the opportunity to train future physicians with excellent on-site resources. Work with a great team of faculty members alongside motivated residents in the beautiful and welcoming city of Anchorage, located in the heart of Alaska’s scenic grandeur.

  • Prior teaching/precepting experience preferred, but new graduates will also be considered
  • Ideal candidate will have a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and other teaching sites
  • Strong background or interest in academic psychiatric care preferred
  • Experience/interest in conducting and publishing research a plus
  • Must have subspecialty expertise and current certification by American Board of Preventive Medicine or equivalent
  • Successful track record in leadership, particularly in organizing and building programs ideal
