Position Summary
The Medical Director is responsible to provide clinical and managerial health care leadership, problem-solve, communicate and strategically plan the development of the medical staff and clinic. The Medical Director is also responsible to confirm compliance of medical staff with all state and federal requirements. The Medical Director interacts with the corresponding Clinic Administrator and Assistant Administrator, the CHPG Chief Medical Officer, and the facility administration. This position reports to CHPG CMO. Provides state wide alignment across CHPG practices. Drives cost efficiencies across assigned region.
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
QUALITY
- Coordinates medical staff activities to maintain state and federal regulatory standards.*
- Physician Performance Oversight:* Physician Patient Satisfaction Physician performance management and behavioral refinement Quality and Peer Review Oversight as it interfaces with CHPG processes Address patient complaints as they relate to the providers Oversees the physician monitoring process to provide adequate information for physicians’ re-credentialing and ensure patient safety
- Participate in compliance programs.*
- Attends CHPG meetings as defined by CMO.*
SERVICE
- Functions as a liaison between medical staff, the CHPG CMO and CHPG Leadership, and the facility leadership to communicate administrative concerns, decisions and planning. Addresses concerns of medical staff in appropriate administrative meetings and through administrative team. Resolves issues promptly and completely.*
- Operations Improvement*: Participate in strategic planning for designated clinic(s) and sponsoring facilities Advise in development of integration practices between clinic, facility, home health, or other appropriate division Participate in the development and implementation of LSS/EMR Participate and lead system-wide initiatives e.g. Colorado Health Neighborhood Rapid Cycle Change Implementation regarding quality and operational re-design
- Support integration of Centura initiatives across the continuum of care.*
PEOPLE
- Physician Staff Development*: Monitor provider capacity and identify current or future needs for full-time or part-time physician positions.
- Actively participate in physician recruiting
- On-boarding and mentoring of new physicians to include appropriate on-boarding activity
- Annual Physician Performance Assessment utilizing current accepted process Ensure appropriate clinical supervision of midlevel providers
