Providence Portland Medical Center’s Department of Medical Education is seeking an exceptional General Internist. This department is a unique, collaborative group of clinician educators focused on training the next generation of physicians. Its 30-resident program emphasizes mentorship, role modeling and rigorous clinical experiences that balance clinical exposure in a variety of settings, including outpatient general medicine, inpatient medicine, and internal medicine subspecialties with an understanding of the health care system, evidence-based medicine, and quality improvement. They host medical students on its core rotations each month, including students from Oregon Health & Science University and Washington State University. - Work closely with Medical Education Department leadership and the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency to provide vision, leadership, organizational skills and teaching supervision for the internal medicine residents and medical students
- Spend approximately 60 percent of your time in direct patient for your own primary care panel as well as precepting residents, and 40 percent in academic responsibilities, including teaching, evaluation, scholarship, monthly faculty development sessions, and administrative duties
