Nuvance Health System is seeking an Academic Thoracic Surgeon
Nuvance Health, a 7-hospital health system located in Connecticut and the Hudson Valley in New York, is seeking an academically oriented general thoracic surgeon. This position is based on the Connecticut side of the system, at Danbury and Norwalk hospitals. The ideal candidate should have skills in robot-assisted surgery and minimally-invasive foregut. Involvement in resident and medical student education will be expected.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with nationally recognized thoracic surgeons in a dynamic health system in one of the most desirable areas of Connecticut, within an hour of NYC. The surgeon will join a division of four outstanding general thoracic surgeons who work collaboratively.There is excellent support from the Nuvance Cancer Institute, and strong pulmonary and GI support.In addition to an outstanding multidisciplinary team, the surgeon will have access and mentorship in cutting-edge translational and outcomes research, supported by a lab and post-doctoral research fellows at the Rudy Ruggles Biomedical Research Institute. Our Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology is led by Dr. Faiz Bhora, System Chief of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology.
