Saint Thomas West Hospital is seeking a talented and ambitious abdominal transplant surgeon to join our program. The successful applicant will have an interest in pursuing a career focused on kidney and liver transplantation as well as laparoscopic living donor procedures, and laparoscopic hepatobiliary surgeries. The applicant will work in an established but quickly growing kidney transplant program, as well as be tasked with developing a liver transplant program in collaboration with the Surgical Director and Administrative Director of the program.

Clinical and Administrative Duties:

• Clinical duties of this applicant will include the evaluation and selection of patients and donors, the transplant surgery, management of immunosuppressive medications, inpatient rounds, outpatient clinic duties, and will take call for the program.
• Administrative duties include *promoting high standards of practice through the development of transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines and participates in rigorous performance improvement monitoring and quality initiatives.*
• Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to participate in general surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and dialysis access practice.

Education/Experience

*

• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
• Board Certified with American Board of Surgery (or Board eligible)
• Completion of ASTS accredited fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplant Surgery
• Experience in deceased donor and living donor kidney transplantation
• Experience in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy
• Experience in liver transplantation
• Interest in dialysis access and hepto-biliary surgery and other general surgeries.

Licensing/Certification Requirements

• Able to meet licensing requirements in Tennessee,
• Able to meet State of Tennessee Pharmacy Board License to Prescribe Medications and DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
• United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) credentialed or eligible as a Primary Surgeon.
