General Surgeon- Cooley Dickinson Medical Group- Northampton, MA

We’re looking for an experienced general surgeon who is eager to join our team and use their superior surgical skills to help us continue to thrive.

In this role, the successful candidate will be well-grounded in the basic science of surgery, using their exceptional clinical judgment to offer thorough and exemplary patient care. We expect our general surgeons to possess a unique blend of technical knowledge and empathy, enabling them to improve the health of patients not just during the procedure, but well into the future.

This role will practice out of the Kittredge Surgery Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. Consultations and office hours will be based in a brand-new office suite in our beautiful ambulatory complex at 15 Atwood Drive a short drive from the hospital.

The incumbent will be expected to collaborate with a team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and perioperative staff. Our current clinical team performs general surgeries including, breast, cholecystectomy, abscess drainage, appendectomy, small bowel, and colon surgery. There is also an opportunity for the right candidate to expand services into complex hernia repair, as well as minimally invasive foregut and bariatric procedures. Endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures are not a necessity but could be accommodated.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
• Board -eligible or Board-certified, licensed general surgeon
• 2-5 years as a practicing general surgeon (strongly preferred)
