Swedish Medical Center is seeking a board-certified Surgeon to act as Transplant Center Director. The successful candidate will have completed an ASTS-approved transplant fellowship for an established liver, kidney, pancreas transplant program and have significant experience in liver and kidney transplantation. Swedish is one of seven kidney transplant centers and one of just four liver transplant centers serving the entire Pacific Northwest.
The Transplant Center Director will be responsible for the development and execution of its strategic plan for patient care, research and education, including establishment of success metrics in conjunction with the Transplant Executive Committee and Organ Program Leadership. This role will provide leadership oversight of the Transplant Center's operations and compliance/regulatory framework. The Transplant Director will collaborate with health system leadership to recruit and retain the providers needed to meet the Transplant Center's strategic plan.
- Applicants must have a M.D. and hold, or have the ability to obtain, the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Washington
- Board-certification by the American Board of Surgery required
- Must be actively engaged in transplant surgery and have completed an ASTS multi-organ transplant fellowship
- Proficiency in liver, kidney or pancreas transplantation, along with donor nephrectomies preferred
- Leadership experience required
- Evidence of clinical excellence and commitment to clinical and strategic leadership is required
