Lead Hematologist- Oncologist Opportunity 

 

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematologist-Oncologist to lead an established acute leukemia and MDS research program in Nashville, TN. 

Tennessee Oncology was established in 1976 in Nashville, Tennessee and its mission remains unchanged: To provide access to high-quality cancer care and clinical research for all patients, at convenient locations within their community and close to their home. Our growing network of physicians and locations is based on this mission. We provide on-site chemotherapy treatments at over thirty locations, so patients may receive the necessary care without the strain of long-distance travel. Tennessee Oncology is an academically minded community practice which is committed to advancing both the science of detection and access to novel treatments, and to ensuring these advances are available to every patient. Since its inception, Tennessee Oncology has become one of the nation’s largest, community-based cancer care specialist groups with over 70 physicians and home to one of the leading clinical trial networks in the country. 

About the Role:

The successful candidate will join a renowned clinical research program in oncology to lead drug development in acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative disorders. The program exists as a collaboration between Tennessee Oncology and Sarah Cannon Research Institute and includes a diverse menu of phase I, II and III clinical trials evaluating novel agents and immune-based therapies. Key qualities required for the position include experience in leading early and late phase research, a desire to publish and present at national conferences, and the ability to bring teams of people together for collaborative interactions. While research time is protected the role will also include clinical management of patients at Tennessee Oncology's growing Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancer. Experience in cellular based therapies including stem cell transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy is also desired. The successful candidate will be supported by a team of research staff, advanced practice providers and administrative personnel.
