Nuvance Health is seeking a Full time Day Adult Hospitalist for New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT about 85 miles from New York City to join our established program. Position is a non-teaching day schedule in a community based teaching hospital. We have a dedicated Nocturnist team. There is potential for professional growth into a teaching position through the Faculty Development Program. This is an employed position with Western Connecticut Medical Group. We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary plus quality incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses. Hospitalists are responsible for their patients day shifts for a twelve hour 5 on 5 off or 7 on 7 off block schedule with additional PTO and CME. There is 1:1 PA support. The average census for last fiscal year was 14.45 patients, and that includes the average of about 4 admissions per day to the facility.

New Milford Hospital is an 85-bed community hospital, serving the residents of the greater Litchfield County area in CT for almost 100 years.  Our Emergency Department, newly renovated in 2015, is an 11,000-square-foot, sustainable and “green” space, equipped with all private patient rooms, specialty care areas and an expanded triage desk. Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology. We treat about 70,000 patients annually, with approximately 900 trauma cases

Job Summary:

Provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses. Residents and Pas cover Fast Term codes.

Job Requirements:

• MD or DO with CT State and Federal Narcotic Use Registration
• Preferred: Prior experience as a staff physician or Hospitalist but new Residents are encouraged to apply
• Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Willingness to work Day a block 5 on 5 off or 7 on 7 off 12 hour schedule with additional PTO and CME time.
