Job Description

Nocturnist/Night Hospitalist (Physician) – Sharon, Connecticut – Hiring Bonus and Relocation stipend may be available and H1-B May sponsorship may be available.

Sharon Hospital, located in Sharon, Connecticut, is seeking a full-time Nocturnist for night coverage as we continue to grow our established and successful program. This is an excellent employed opportunity to work independently and with autonomy overnight at a small community hospital in a beautiful location. Sharon Hospital is located in northwestern Connecticut in Litchfield County, near the New York State border. Clinical responsibilities include admitting and rounding independently.  Schedule is 12 hour night shifts (8 PM – 8 AM) on a 7 on/7 off schedule with 240 hours additional PTO (1840 total annual hours). The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. H-1B Visa sponsorship may be available for this great opportunity to join a team with a small community hospital feel in a collegial work environment while being able to work closely with different specialties.

This is an employed position with a financially stable and growing hospital system and a multi-specialty practice with over 900 primary care and specialty providers. We offer a highly competitive package, including night differential, comprehensive benefits, and generous allowances for CMEs/Dues. Relocation stipend and H1-B Sponsorship may available where appropriate.

Sharon Hospital has 78 general hospital beds and provides a full range of services including: cardiology, cardiopulmonary, emergency care, imaging, intensive care, neurosciences, orthopedics, pain management, stroke care, surgical, women’s services and wound care.

Located in scenic Litchfield County, Sharon is a community with many beautiful and small hamlets. Sharon offers a plethora of community and family activities against a backdrop of local attractions, from hiking, biking, and museums to restaurants, cafés and local farmers markets, there are endless ways to spend your leisure time. Excellent housing and outstanding schools can be found throughout the area, with easy access to New York City which is less than 90 miles.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or DO with NY State and Federal Narcotic Use Registration
  • Preferred: Prior experience as a staff physician or Hospitalist but new Residents are encouraged to apply
  • Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Willingness to work flexible and variable 12 hour shifts 8 PM – 8 AM including about 2 weekends per month for a total of about 13 shifts per month, typically 7 on 7 off block.
