Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN is seeking BC/BE Internal Medicine physicians to see patients exclusively in the hospital setting. Provide 24/7 inpatient Internal Medicine care for specialty patients as part of a well-established, co-management structure. Fairview Southdale Hospitalis a community hospital with a high level of services, certified as a level III trauma center. Codes and RRTs will be managed by dedicated staff as part of the hospitalist group. Semi open ICU model with ability to co-manage with University of Minnesota PhysiciansIntensivists and/or Pulmonology group. Procedures and vent management are not required. Open to all levels of experience.
Practice Details:
- Provide 24/7 inpatient internal medicine service for practices that no longer admit or round on patients at the hospital
- Modified block schedule
- Hospitalists work approx 2 weekends/month and rotate through evening/night blocks
- Currently evening/night shifts are shared equally in the group, with partial coverage of nights by a dedicated nocturnist
- Manage patients from admission to discharge and provide internal medicine consults to other specialty services throughout the hospital
- Good ancillary support ranging from dedicated RN's caring directly for patients to RN Care Coordinators, to Social Workers, Pharmacists, etc. Nearly all specialists are available and practice at Fairview Southdale Hospital, which has a large, independent Medical Staff
- Hospitalist office is located within the hospital and call rooms are available
- Great technology including fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC), E-signature medical records and digital PACs imaging system

Position Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics training program and Board Certified/Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association. Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure. Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota. Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
