Physician - Hospitalist


Job Description

In this position you will:

  • Responsible for diagnosing and treating common diseases and injuries for patients of all ages who have been admitted to the hospital.
  • Communication of preventative measures, both medical and non-medical, for avoiding diseases and injuries.
  • Prescribe and administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care for all age groups.
  • Order, perform, and interpret tests.
  • Analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' conditions.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluation treatments as necessary.
  • Collect and maintain patient information such as medical history, reports, and exam results.
  • Advise patients of preventative self-care including diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Participate in 24-hour rotation system. Identify serious or specialized illness or injuries, and refer patients to the necessary specialist.
  • Maintain successful working relationships with nurses and other medical facility staff.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Medical Degree (MD) in Medicine.
  • Completion of residency in internal or family medicine.
  • Current or immediate eligibility for Oregon medical license.
