TeamHealth has an exciting and new day shift opening in Abilene, Texas, at Hendrick Medical Center South. We are seeking a full-time internal medicine trained physician to join our stable and established hospital medicine program at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas; which is a part of the Hendrick Health System - a not-for-profit healthcare institution.

Hendrick Medical Center South is a 231-bed hospital with a 20-bed open ICU. Enjoy a block schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off with a staffing model of 5 day-shift physicians with 1 day-shift APC (7a-7p), 1 swing APC (1p-1a) and 1 nocturnist physician (7p-7a). Our daytime physicians see an average census of 12-15 rounding encounters, 1-2 admissions and 0-1 ICU admits per day. Hospitalists do run codes and handle rapid response as they are the primary admitters for the ICU. Procedures are required for this position with some proctoring on a case-by-case basis.

When it comes to specialty back up, Hendrick MC South has the support of GI, cardiology, neurology, spine surgery, general surgery, infectious disease, pulmonology, OB/GYN, wound care, and interventional radiology (will assist ED with procedures). The EMR utilized throughout the Hendricks system is All-Scripts.
