McDowell Internal Medicine was established 20+ years ago and joined Mission Health System in 2012 consisting of 2 physicians and 2.5 nurse practitioners.

The incoming physician will be employed by Mission Health and can expect to work a 4 - 4 ½ day work week. The office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The office space consists of 13 exam rooms with each provider using 2-3 exam rooms. Each physician sees 20-22 patients on a daily basis and the incoming physician can expect similar volumes as the group treats adults with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The well-trained support staff includes 2 RNs, 6 LPNs, a phlebotomist, practice manager and front office support staff.

The practice utilizes an electronic medical record by Cerner for all documentation of the patient visit and other services offered, which include:

Spirometry

Telephone call responsibilities include a 1:8 weekday and weekend rotation with the intensity being described as very light (answering service handles most call).

As several of the providers have been with the group for 20+ years, the group is seeking a physician to stay long-term focusing on quality care by informing and educating patients in a comfortable and convenient setting, while having the opportunity to practice with a very high level of autonomy.
