Providence Portland Medical Center’s Department of Medical Education is seeking an exceptional General Internist for mixed faculty/clinic role. This department is made up of a collaborative group of clinician educators who are passionate about training the next generation of physicians. Our 30-resident program emphasizes mentorship, role modeling and rigorous clinical experiences that balance clinical exposure in a variety of settings (including outpatient medicine, internal medicine, and subspecialties) with an understanding of a patient-centered care model, evidence-based medicine, and focus on quality improvement. Additionally, we host medical students on core rotations each month, including students from Oregon Health & Science University and Washington State University. We offer a supportive, flexible work environment that embraces diversity and innovation. This position comes with protected time for teaching and scholarly activity.

• Includes both inpatient and outpatient patient care
• 50/50 split -- with half of your time in direct care of your own patient panel, as well as precepting residents. The other 50% of time is focused on academic responsibilities (including teaching, evaluation, scholarly activity, monthly faculty development sessions, and admin)
• Work closely with GME leadership of the Internal Medicine Residency program to provide vision, leadership, collaboration, and supervision for the internal medicine residents and medical students
• Early-career physicians with a passion for teaching are encouraged to apply
