Providence St. Vincent Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking an exceptional Clinician Educator with interest in both outpatient and inpatient medicine to join a core faculty within Providence’s integrated primary care organization.
This long standing, community based residency program is housed within a large tertiary care hospital. The program is known for its collaborative, academic culture and strong commitment to resident education, professional development, and patient centered care. Located in Portland, Oregon—the jewel of the Pacific Northwest—the city offers a vibrant urban culture with close proximity to mountains, forests, the beach, and sun drenched central Oregon.
Position Highlights:
Full time faculty position (1.0 FTE):
Clinical Responsibilities (0.56 FTE)
- Direct care of your own patient panel within an integrated faculty-resident continuity clinic using an innovative Patient Centered Medical Home model
- A mix of outpatient and inpatient clinical practice
- Resident precepting in the ambulatory setting
- Inpatient attending, precepting residents on a geographically based teaching unit with a unique interdisciplinary bedside rounding model
Medical Education & Administrative Responsibilities (0.44 FTE)
- Teaching and resident evaluations
- Curriculum development and educational innovation
- Faculty development and mentorship
- Scholarly activity aligned with medical education
- Meaningful protected time to support program development, educational leadership, and innovation
- Close partnership with GME and residency leadership to provide vision, supervision, and mentorship for internal medicine residents and medical students
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Board certified in Internal Medicine
- Passion for teaching, mentorship, and learner development
- Physicians at any career stage—experienced clinician educators or early career physicians eager to grow in academic medicine—are encouraged to apply
