System Leader, Neuro-Oncology/Brain and Spine Tumor Program – Nuvance Health – Fairfield County in Western Connecticut and Hudson Valley region in New York
Nuvance Health is seeking a System Leader of Neuro-oncology to lead a network integrated program with clinical care responsibilities and oversight at Danbury and Norwalk Hospitals in Connecticut as well as Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Our system spans suburban Fairfield County in Connecticut as well as the Hudson Valley region of New York state, about one hour outside of the New York metropolitan area.
The Leader of Neuro-oncology will report to the system leader of the Nuvance Cancer Program, Dr. Margo Shoup, and will be responsible for the overall development and ongoing quality and organization of services for the evaluation and treatment of brain and spine tumors across all seven hospitals in the system. Services will span benign and malignant diseases and primary and metastatic cancer therapies as well as oncologic related neurologic disorders. The system lead for the brain and spine tumor program will establish standards of practice to ensure optimal patient care throughout the Nuvance System and will continually evaluate and improve care delivery processes and outcomes. The position includes organizing tumor boards, pathways, clinical trials, recruitment, and budgeting for this part of the cancer program. In addition, the Leader will sit on the Nuvance cancer program council and will be integral in guiding strategic decisions for cancer care. The Leader will work with dedicated neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists and the cancer research team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Danbury, and Norwalk Hospitals.
This is an employed position with Western Connecticut Medical Group, which is part of our newly formed network, Nuvance Health, which spans seven hospitals across the Hudson Valley region of New York State and Western Connecticut. Outpatient sites include Praxair Cancer Center in Danbury, Whittingham Cancer Center in Norwalk, and Dyson Center for Cancer in Poughkeepsie. The ideal candidate will have fellowship training and board certification in neuro-oncology, with a minimum of 5 years of experience with demonstrated leadership experience.
