Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- OB/GYN Physician who will perform scheduled rotating shifts involving obstetrical and gynecologic service.
- Eight-hour shift based on the inpatient ward and outpatient clinic with hours normally between 8 am and 4:30pm. These physicians would rotate to cover 24 hour on-call duties during the evening, on weekends, holidays, and into overtime during their perspective shifts.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility/PHS Indian Hospital, Hospital OB/GYN Supervisor, Clinical Director, or designee.
- Report to the Emergency department to evaluate and treat OB/GYN patients.
- Providing direct patient medical care to obstetric and gynecologic patients currently admitted in the ward, admitting OB/GYN patients to the OB Unit, delivering vaginal births or performing caesarian sections and other obstetric and gynecologic surgeries as privileges delineated, discharging patients from hospital, accepting as well as performing interhospital transfers, being on-call to the Pine Ridge Hospital Emergency Department and other IHS hospitals and facilities.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- OB/GYN must have, at minimum, current BLS, ACLS and NRP certification.
- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, or Board Eligible and graduated from an accredited residency program within the past four (4) years, preferred.
- Must hold an active, current, and unrestricted state medical license with a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy degree from any of the 50 United States or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Must have served as a credentialed full-time OB/GYN for a minimum of 6 consecutive months without a hiatus of longer than six consecutive weeks and must have provided a portion of these OB/GYN duties within the last three months unless just recently graduating from OB/GYN residency training.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must have full vaccination records.
