Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Board Certified Ophthalmologist to diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of eyes.
Duties:
- Examines patient for symptoms indicative of organic or congenital ocular disorders
- Determines nature and extent of injury or disorder
- Prescribes and administers medications, and admits patients to hospitals if indicated
- Directs remedial activities to aid in regarding vision, or utilize sight remaining by instructing patient in eye exercise
- Participates in the health center's Performance Improvement program
- Assists in the formulation and implementation of the health center's health care plan.
- Practices Evidence Base Medicine
- Uses electronic health record for documentation
- Completes and signs encounter note(s) within 24-48 hours
- Orders Lab test(s) in the electronic health record
- Reviews and signs/dates lab tests results daily both in electronic health record and printed results, when indicated
- Reviews and signs/dates radiology reports daily
- Follows recall policy for abnormal tests
- Uses electronic health record for prescribing corrective glasses via e prescribe and to document patient's medications
A Successful Candidate:
- Effective clinical and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Education: Board Certification as an Ophthalmologist licensed to practice in the State of Missouri required.
- Other: 2 years experience along with experience supervising Ophthalmic Technicians. Must maintain hospital-admitting privileges at appropriate hospitals. Must have reliable transportation.
