Responsibilities
Collaborating with a hospital in northeastern Oregon that has an opportunity for an Otolaryngologist to assist their team with call coverage.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: 24-hour beeper call, 7a-7a
Volume: 0-2 calls per day
Team Structure: 3 MDs, 1 NP
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
Provide compassionate and timely otolaryngology support during critical overnight calls.
Address urgent patient concerns with clarity and care, ensuring a comforting approach for all.
Collaborate with local healthcare teams to deliver seamless and effective care in emergencies.
Manage acute ear, nose, and throat cases with expertise and a calm, friendly demeanor.
Maintain clear and concise communication with hospital staff and referring physicians.
Document patient interactions and treatment details meticulously for smooth follow-up care.
Adapt quickly to unexpected challenges while keeping patient well-being at the forefront.
Qualifications
Must be a board-certified otolaryngologist with extensive experience in acute and emergency care
A compassionate, patient-focused approach is essential for providing top-notch call coverage
Familiarity with Locum Tenens work and a willingness to adapt to diverse clinical settings
Proven ability to manage busy, 24-hour shifts while remaining calm and efficient
Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration with local healthcare teams
A strong commitment to community health in the beautiful Northeastern Oregon region
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered MD or DO ENT Oregon state license
Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program
One year of work experience as an ENT
One year of EMR experience
Board Certified
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
Requirements:
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
