In Houston, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Pediatrician to provide outpatient medical care in the clinic.
Job Overview:
- Provides medical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at the health center
- Examines, diagnoses, treats and refers patients for appropriate specialty care services
- Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other forms of treatment
- Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen by the health center’s established information management policies and procedures
- Completes patient charts as required by health center rules not to exceed 72 hours after the patient is seen
- Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately
- Refers clients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s management and care
- Provide education and support to patients and receive and address patient’s questions and problems
- Provides direct supervision of mid-level practitioners and students
- Provides clinical direction and consultation to mid-level providers – assists in the development of diagnostic and treatment protocols
- Participates in the peer review and other quality control processes
- Participates in the review and development of patient care policies, including health maintenance schedules and continuity of care

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine and completion of approved post- graduate training
- Board certified in Pediatrics
- Unrestricted Texas license (currently licensed or license pending)
- Ability to be credentialed per major hospital system policies and procedures
- Current DEA Certification
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification
- Proficiency in computer skills and Electronic Health Records
