TeamHealth is hiring a full-time (5 days per week) inpatient rehab physician (internal medicine background) to do rounding in an inpatient rehab facility in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, area. Key Responsibilities- Perform internal medicine (IM) care in an inpatient rehab setting
- Manage chronic disease, diagnose illnesses and medical conditions, and implement plan of care
- Order and interpret lab results
- Prescribe and monitor medications
- Consult with physicians and coordinate patient care with other healthcare practitioners
- Educate patients and their caregivers on coping skills to handle chronic and age-related conditions
- Build relationships with your patients, patients' family members, and facility staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery
- Promote healthy lifestyle changes
Requirements- 1+ years internal medicine (IM) experience required
- Direct IRF care experience a plus, but not required
- Active and unrestricted Indiana license
- Active and unrestricted Indiana DEA with prescriptive authority
