In Tyler, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a Full-Time Child Psychiatrist to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders for children
Job Overview:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow up visits to children
- Prescribe, direct, or administer psycho therapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders
- Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals
- Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments
- Writes and maintains progress notes and documents psychiatric visits as outlined in policy
- Examines or conducts laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical condition or mental disorder
- Collaborate with psychotherapists, physicians, psychologists, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress as an integral part of the clinical team
- Makes appropriate referrals for clients (within or outside of agency)
- Participates in weekly interdisciplinary staff meetings when available
- Maintains monthly statistics and abides by agency’s Policies and Procedures manual and Mental Health department Policies and Procedures
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine (MD) or (DO)
- Current active and unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice as a physician in the State of Texas
- Board certification in Psychiatry
- 3 years post-graduate training experience preferred
- Must have current DEA and Board certified in Psychiatry and other such certificates to legally operate as practitioner in the State of Texas
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification
Bilingual (English and Spanish) Preferred
