Excellent Outpatient Psychiatry Opening in Norwalk, Connecticut (50 miles from New York City)

Western Connecticut Medical Group is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for our outpatient office at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. Norwalk is located in Fairfield County about 50 miles northeast of New York City. Our established and busy practice has seven psychiatrists and two nurse practitioners. Position is outpatient based with limited weekend inpatient coverage. Weekend coverage is shared with a nurse practitioner and paid at additional per diem rate. This can also be a teaching position for those who are interested. There is opportunity to build Child Psychiatry practice.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in psychiatry. Spanish speaking a plus. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses and relocation stipend. Weekend coverage is paid at additional per diem rate.

Western Connecticut Health Network includes Norwalk, Danbury, and New Milford Hospitals in addition to our Medical Group, which has over 70 outpatient practice locations.  Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 400+ physicians and 150+ advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

The hospital is just minutes from beautiful places to hike, swim, sail or just walk along the beach. Connecticut Magazine recently named South Norwalk as the “hottest” nightspot between Boston and New York City, with a plethora of theater groups and restaurants to choose from. New York City is easily accessible by car or train.
