Mission health seeks a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join a well established hospital employed practice as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Psychiatric services of Mission Hospital provide a key element of care for mental health throughout Western North Carolina. Established over 25 years ago, we are the only inpatient psychiatric unit in Buncombe County. We provide short-term inpatient care for adults who need crisis stabilization, and partner with our community mental health system to minimize re-hospitalization and promote positive outcomes for our patients.

The Program includes:

-9 Bed Adolescent and 8 Bed Child Psychiatry unit
-23 Bed Emergency Department Psychiatric Evaluation Area
-Two Adult, One Geriatric, One Child, and One -Adolescent Inpatient Units totaling 57 beds
-Structured outpatient program with group therapy focus
-Active ECT Program
-Involvement in teaching and supervision as part of new regional psychiatry residency training program, with academic appointment possible
