Radiology: Interventional Job in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Interventional Radiologist – Partnership Track (Eastern Pennsylvania)

Lehigh Valley Health Network

Physician - Radiology: Interventional

Job Description

Medical Imaging of Lehigh Valley (MILV), a progressive, subspecialized private practice group, seeks a fellowship trained, BC/BE Interventional radiologist to be part of an experienced team of over 80 radiologists, providing exclusive radiology services to Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), a university-affiliated network. We are the largest independent private practice group in Pennsylvania. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of sub-specialty care to all our patients.

This is a full time position requiring onsite coverage with partnership opportunity for the suitable candidate. Successful candidate will join a team of 6 interventional radiologists and 3 Neurointerventional radiologists, who provide a wide range of  body IR services to the network's patients, including complex peripheral arterial and venous interventions, level 1 trauma services, arterial embolization, UFE, DVT thrombolysis and thrombectomy, IVC filter placement and retrieval, kyphoplasty, spine interventions, GU and GI interventions including TIPS/BRTO, chest tubes, dialysis access interventions, venous access devices, CT/US guided procedures and a full range of interventional oncology services. The 2 major hospitals have a dedicated PICC placement team.

Candidate will be expected to cover body IR services rotating between 4 of the network hospitals with occasional coverage at a fifth hospital. Neurointerventional call, including stroke call is covered exclusively by our Neurointerventional radiologists, with a separate body IR call shared equally among the body Interventionalists.

The position entails spending approximately 80% time performing body IR, with additional diagnostic radiology work expected, which may include body CT/MR, US, plain films, etc. The group is flexible matching non-IR rotations to a candidate’s strengths.  The job also includes weekly dedicated clinic time in our growing IR Clinic, supported by NPs, MAs and full time schedulers/office staff, providing daily office hours. The group currently employs 5 PAs and 4 NPs who provide the majority of inpatient rounding, consults, and low-level procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumber punctures, and other fluoroscopy and US guided procedures, allowing our physicians time to focus on high-end procedures.

The Lehigh Valley is a geographically and culturally diverse area, serving a mixture of urban, suburban, and rural populations. It is conveniently located in eastern Pennsylvania, approximately 1 hour from Philadelphia and 1.5 hours from New York City. Its proximity to major cities, coupled with affordable housing, strong school systems, and numerous cultural and recreational activities have made the Lehigh Valley one of the fastest growing regions in Pennsylvania.

   This position offers:

  • Starting salary commensurate with training & experience
  • Moving Expenses & excellent benefits package
