Full-Time Vascular Surgery Opening in Danbury, Connecticut (Fairfield County, 60 miles from New York City)

Danbury Hospital, located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester County in New York, is seeking a fourth vascular surgeon interested in joining a growing teaching community hospital network with close ties to a well-established medical school. We have a free standing 6 year general surgical residency which includes a year of research and it is our intent to apply for a 5+2 vascular fellowship. Teaching medical students and residents is an important part of the program. Our group enjoys a state of the art hybrid OR, dedicated operating room block time, and excellent OR support staff.  A very busy vascular lab, the only IAC accredited vein center in the state, and an office based lab (angio suite) are also part of the practice.  Our program is led by Alan M. Dietzek, M.D., Network Chair in Vascular Surgery.

The idea candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in both endo and open vascular surgery. A background of academic achievement is a plus.  This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice Connecticut. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues. Relocation allowance will also be provided.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns, the Danbury area offers excellent housing and school options. Boston, New York City, and Hartford are easily accessible via car or train.
