Locum psychiatrist for an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinic (IBH) starting mid-November. 6 month contract with option to extend. The IBH psychiatrist is a member of the 20+ person IBH team, which consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists and certified drug and alcohol counselors. The team is embedded in a County-run primary care clinic (which is an FQHC). Psychiatrist duties will include psychiatric evaluations of patients, providing consultation to other members of the IBH team, as well as to primary care providers. You will also have an opportunity to participate in collaborative team meetings and case conferences on a regular basis. The community of patients are mostly dual diagnosis patients, many of them homeless. Your job will be to initiate treatment when appropriate and to refer back to primary care for ongoing medication management of stable patients. For the more complex or unstable patient population, you may follow patients on an ongoing basis.

Must haves to be considered.... 1.) Must be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist 2.) Must have a California medical license or already be in the process of attaining one 3.) Must have an active DEA at time of start date 4.) Must be comfortable seeing severely mentally ill patients Length of assignment: 6 months - ongoing

Salary: $150/hour
