Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Registered Nurse to act as a Program Manager for a program to temporarily house Veterans who are homeless and to direct them to resources to assist in rehabilitation and permanent housing.
- Must be able to do a total assessment of the condition of the Veteran at the time of entry into the program, and determine medical/psychological/addiction recovery and any other conditions a homeless Vet might have.
- After assessment the RN would get the Veteran needed medical care as well as other supportive services as needed, utilizing all resources available to Vets provided by VA Facilities.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Three year's experience working as a licensed Registered Nurse (Preferably with Veterans)
Program Management a plus, but not mandatory as long as he/she understands the scope of the job and all that it entails.
Organizational skills are essential.
Will work with a Deputy Program Manager to run this program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must have A+ certification
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Physical Requirements
- This will be a physically challenging position requiring traveling to VA Facilities and the Housing Facilities to meet with the Veterans and perform assessments, recommend and set-up appointments for services needed, and follow up.
- Must be physically able to perform all duties as listed.
- Must have all current vaccinations and perform tuberculosis testing.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
