McLaren Central Michigan is a 118-bed, acute care, not-for-profit hospital located in Mount Pleasant, offering a full range of quality health and wellness services to the residents of central Michigan including cardiovascular care, cancer services, and comprehensive surgical and orthopedic services. The hospital has over 70 active staff physicians and is associated with more than 150 other skilled providers. McLaren Central Michigan was honored in May, 2014 with two Governor's Awards of Excellence. The first award was for improving "Patient Care and Quality of Care in the Acute Care Hospital Setting" recognizing the hospital's performance in clinical and patient experience measures and the completion of a process improvement plan. The second award was for "Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention" and was based on the hospital's infection performance, antimicrobial stewardship and completion of a process improvement plan.
