Starting as an acute-care facility in 1956, the hospital has adapted as healthcare needs have changed. This 125-bed facility provides a full range of care including Oncology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Services, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and more. Rockcastle Regional Hospital is synonymous with the community it serves; the facility provides an array of programming to the community including a smoke cessation program, a Longest Day of Play event, dinners with hospital leadership and more. In 2018, Rockcastle was named one of the "Best Places to Work in Kentucky" by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. It is the only hospital in the state to receive 5-star recognition for patient experience from the Center for Medicaid & Medicaid Services.
